Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about protecting your content
About OnlyErase
What is OnlyErase?
OnlyErase helps creators monitor the internet for unauthorized copies of their images and assists
with takedown requests after human review.
Do you host or display adult content?
No. We do not distribute adult content. We process creator-submitted works solely
for copyright protection. All images shown in the dashboard are heavily blurred.
How It Works
How does OnlyErase find stolen images?
We use proprietary AI-powered image detection technology to identify potential matches across the
web. All matches are reviewed by a human before any action is taken.
Are takedowns automatic?
Detection is automated, but all takedown requests are human-reviewed before submission.
What is Auto Mode vs Review Mode?
Auto Mode: We handle everything automatically. When we detect a high-confidence
match, we submit a takedown request after human review without requiring your approval.
Review Mode: You stay in control. We notify you of every potential match, and you decide whether to approve or reject each takedown request.

How often are scans performed?
Automatic Scanning:
Once an image is uploaded and processed, it enters our automated scanning system. Scan frequency depends on your plan:
• Starter: Monthly
• Pro: Weekly
• Exclusive: Every 2 days
Manual Scanning:
You can trigger a manual scan for newly uploaded images only. Once an image has been scanned (either manually or automatically), it cannot be manually rescanned — it will be included in the next automatic scan cycle based on your plan.
This design ensures efficient use of scanning resources while guaranteeing comprehensive coverage through scheduled scans.

Can I submit my own URLs for review?
Yes. You can submit links you discover, and we'll review them for potential
enforcement.
What platforms do you support?
We support takedown requests across many common hosting providers and websites. Platform coverage
varies and evolves over time.
Do you support video scanning?
Partially. Our image detection often captures video thumbnails, which can help
identify video content containing your images. We're actively developing more comprehensive video
scanning capabilities and expect to launch them soon.
In the meantime, if you discover a video containing your content, you can submit the link directly through your dashboard and we'll review it for takedown.

Privacy & Security
Do you store my images?
No, we never store your actual images. When you upload an image, we generate a
unique AI-powered fingerprint and delete the original. This fingerprint cannot be reversed to
recreate your image — it's a one-way process designed to protect your privacy.
Who can see my dashboard?
Only you. Your account is protected by your login credentials. We show only heavily blurred
thumbnails in your dashboard for identification purposes — never the actual images.
Is my data safe?
Yes. We use industry-standard security practices and limit access to sensitive
data.
Billing & Plans
Are takedowns really unlimited?
Yes! All plans include unlimited DMCA takedown submissions. You pay for the number
of protected images and scan frequency, not per takedown.
How many images can I protect?
Each plan includes a maximum number of protected images. You can manage and replace images at any
time within your plan limits.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. You can change your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, and
downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard.
Do you support custom or higher-volume plans?
Yes. Need more? VIP pricing and custom usage available — contact
us.
Legal & Takedowns
How long does it take to remove content, and how successful is it?
Removal Timeline:
Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), US-based platforms are legally required to "expeditiously" remove infringing content upon receiving a valid notice. In practice:
• 24-48 hours: Most major platforms (Google, YouTube, social media)
• 3-7 days: Websites and smaller hosting providers
• 7-14 days: E-commerce platforms and international hosts
Success Rate:
DMCA takedowns are highly effective for legitimate claims. Industry data shows:
• 95%+ success rate for properly documented takedown requests
• Google alone processes over 5 billion copyright removal requests annually
• US platforms must comply or risk losing their "safe harbor" immunity under 17 U.S.C. § 512
Legal Backing:
The DMCA (1998) provides strong legal protection for copyright owners. Platforms that fail to respond to valid takedown requests can be held liable for copyright infringement. High-profile cases like Viacom v. YouTube and UMG v. Veoh established that platforms must act promptly on takedown notices to maintain legal protection.
Note: International platforms outside US jurisdiction may have different response times and compliance rates.

Do you guarantee removals?
No. OnlyErase operates on a best-effort basis. Some platforms respond quickly,
others do not. Coverage varies by site.
Why do I need to sign an authorization?
To submit takedown requests on your behalf, we require written authorization. This is standard
practice for copyright enforcement services. The authorization is limited strictly to copyright
protection activities.
Do I need to own the content I upload?
Yes. You must own or control the copyright to all content you submit and confirm
that it depicts only yourself.
What happens if someone disputes a takedown?
If a dispute or counter-notice is received, enforcement is paused. We'll notify you and help point
you toward the next steps you may want to take.
